Joint Graduation between Baguio School of Arts and Trades (BCSAT) and Regional Training Center Baguio (RTC-Baguio)



 

The 17th BCSAT Commencement Exercise and RTC-Baguio Closing Ceremony  was held last June 1, 2017 at PFVR GYM, Military Cut-off, Baguio City with a theme “Technical education and skills, the new currency in global economy.”. The theme of the graduation as per Dr. Jack Friedlander, indicates that the only sustainable way to increase the standard of living and the economic prosperity for a greater percentage of people is to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively compete in the global marketplace.

The first part of the program starts with a Baccalaureate Mass led by Rev. Benny Castanda and the 2nd part was the Graduation Proper. The Graduation proper opened with the chosen graduating student performed a cultural dance called “Tayaw” then followed by the Entrance of Colors with  the Guest & School officials, Graduates with their parents and lastly the Faculty & Staff of BCSAT and RTC-Baguio. Engr. David B. Bungallon, the Vocational School Administrator of BCSAT and RTC-Baguio, gave his opening remarks and presentation of newly graduates. Also TESDA-Benguet Provincial Director Angela E. Gabriel made Confirmation of Graduates and provided a motivational speech for the graduates.

Mr. Romeo Mongalini introduce the 35 graduates of Diploma in Culinary Arts, 36 graduates of Diploma in Restaurant Services and 113 graduates of short courses of the Baguio School of Arts and Trades, along with RTC with 92 short courses graduates who was introduced by Mr. Noriel K. Ramos. Ms. Faviola Concepcion C. Coloma got the most of Proficiency Awards; Cooker NCII, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Food Processing NC II, Tourism Promotion NC II; and she also got the Leadership Award.

Engr. Hector Laguardia introduce the guest speaker TESDA-CAR Director Francisco B. Jucar Jr., who gave his message and speech to all the graduates. He mentioned what are the future plans of TESDA-CAR and compare the vocational skill standards and the global market of technical skills between the Philippines and other countries. He also congratulates the students who will now be competing in global market.

The graduation gets emotional when the students gave their parents token.  This shows how the students work hard in their studies in order to make their parents proud of them.  And the student also sung their graduation song Time of My Life by David Cook and with their closing song the BCSAT Hymn.
